Orton-Gillingham Tutoring
The Orton-Gillingham approach is an explicit, multisensory and sequential way to teach reading, writing and spelling to students diagnosed with dyslexia and is aligned with the science of reading. It empowers learners to overcome reading challenges and develop lifelong literacy skills.
Erica has over 18 years of experience tutoring hundreds of dyslexic students using the Orton-Gillingham approach and provides one-on-one in-person tutoring sessions to ensure personalized instruction.
Erica’s tutoring lessons are carefully planned and built on previously learned concepts. Each session is custom-tailored to the specific strengths of the student. Erica introduces material in a logical sequence which allows students to master foundational skills before moving on to more complex ones. Students will be engaged in multisensory learning through a combination of visual, auditory, and kinesthetic/tactile methods. Erica incorporates visual aids, auditory cues, and hands-on activities to reinforce and make learning fun!
